One of my coworkers told me that I look like Indiana Jones' wife in this outfit, and though she was pretty accurate, it made me wonder whether my looks sometime erred on the side of costumery. Working on this blog has helped me hone in on my personal style and I'm not really the most casual of girls, so on the days when I want to dress casually, there really isn't much to choose from in my closet.

I've been feeling a bit more stressed than usual lately. Last week, I thought I had found the perfect place to live and this week, the place fell through. It's been exhausting to search for a place because I'm not really one to settle and I'm convinced that I will find something that is just right for what I both want and need. This stress has definitely taken my attention off my wardrobe and has made it harder to get dressed in the morning. These are the days I dream I had a more California casual wardrobe. Instead, I decided to work with this skirt and try to make it more casual by mixing it with other neutrals. I think it worked out pretty well. You think Indiana Jones would be proud?

  1. i definitely hear you with the having-nothing-casual. my stuff is all so loud and crazy and sometimes i just want to wear, like, a plain black t-shirt dress. you look lovely, though, and you do match your background perfectly!
